Ed Spear Park

Address:
226 Sunset Street, Smiths Grove, Ky 42171

In 1969, Mrs. Pearl Spears donated 9.77 acres to the City of Smiths Grove for the purpose of developing the area into a park in honor of Mrs. Spear’s husband, Ed Spear. Realizing the financial burden of developing and maintaining a park, the City of Smiths Grove donated the property to the Warren County Government. B.O.R. funding was secured for the development which was completed in 1973.

Major renovation of the park occurred in 1992, providing some upgrades and additional amenities and facilities. Located in the heart of Smiths Grove, just a block off the Main Street (Hwy. 101), it offers a variety of services for citizens of Warren and the surrounding counties including two softball fields, tennis and basketball courts, picnic and playground areas.

In 2006, an additional 7.75 acres was purchased to go with this park. There has been no development on these acres at this time.
